Starting a business: folly or fortune?

Writing in the Sydney Morning Herald, retail and property analyst Michael Baker argues in favour of starting a new business during a recession. He points out that many world-beating companies got off the ground during a down economy. Amongst others, he points out Adobe, Intel, Compaq, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems as examples. They are all technology firms, but more importantly, they are all part of the knowledge economy employing thousands of knowledge workers.

Baker’s story is focused on Australia, but applicable internationally. It covers much of the ground Knowledge Workers has already dealt with in Bad economy good time for business start-up?
